Paper plate craft: Penguin

You will need:

  • paper plate
  • coloured papers (black, orange,white, blue – to create background or card)
  • black water-based paint
  • brush, pencil, permanent marker
  • scissors
  • gluestick/ PVA glue
  • googly eyes (optional)
  • cotton balls (optional

1.Paint one side of the paper plate using a black waterbased colour.Set aside to dry up completely before continuing.

2.Once the paint dried up, carefully fold back the two “wings” and the top of the penguin, see the photo below.If you are working with young children, adult assistance with this step is necessary.

3.Cut out the beak and flipppers out of the orange paper and eyes out of white and black paper (or use googly eyes).

For young children adults can pre-cut these and let the children to just stick them onto the penguin following the example.

4.Stick your penguin onto the blue card/ add cotton balls as snowballs, write a message…let your imagination run wild!
